Privacy Policy

FACE is built so every face is real — and so your data isn’t a product. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the controls you have.

Effective date: July 20, 2026 · Last updated: July 20, 2026

1. Who we are

FACE (“we”, “us”) provides a verified dating and friends product across mobile and web. Contact: privacy@face.dating.

2. What we collect

Account & profile

  • Email address and authentication signals (e.g. Sign in with Apple)
  • Profile details you choose (name, age, city, about, photos, voice intro)
  • Mode preferences (Dating / Friends) and discover filters

Verification

  • Short liveness challenges (smile, blink, turn). Capture is ephemeral: frames are processed to decide verification and are not retained as lasting biometric templates for sale or secondary marketing.

Usage & safety

  • Smiles, passes, matches, and messages
  • Reports, blocks, vouching, and date check-ins
  • Device signals used for abuse prevention and hardware bans
  • Approximate diagnostics needed to keep the service reliable

Payments

  • Purchases via Apple / Google on mobile, or Stripe on web. We receive entitlement status — not your full card number.

3. How we use information

  • Operate discover, matching, chat, and verification
  • Prevent fraud, scams, and banned hardware reuse
  • Provide Plus / Boost features you purchase
  • Respond to support and legal requests

We do not sell personal information. We do not offer bulk data export / portability packages as a product feature.

4. Sharing

We share data only as needed to run FACE, including:

  • Infrastructure processors under contract
  • Payment processors (Apple, Google, Stripe)
  • Push delivery networks (APNs / FCM / Web Push) when enabled
  • When required by law or to protect users from serious harm

5. Retention & deletion

You may delete your account in the app (Profile → Privacy). Deletion removes you from discover and ends your session. Some limited records may be retained where required for security, fraud prevention, or legal obligations (for example, hardware ban hashes).

6. Your choices (GDPR / CPRA)

  • Access and correct profile information in the app
  • Delete your account
  • Control marketing emails where offered
  • California residents: we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are commonly defined

To exercise privacy rights, email privacy@face.app.

7. Children

FACE is for adults 18+. We do not knowingly allow under-18 accounts.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date on this page.
